First Words and Signs
Justin finally hand sign by saying Bye Bye to Dada off to work! And Rianna said a new word with "Rock-Bye-Baby".
If you’d asked me whether I thought they’ll be early talker. I would have to say yes because between thirteen and fourteen months. Rianna would say Dada or Mama and Justin would say number (One and Two). And everything else is bye-bye, cat, ball, rock-bye baby, shoes, and yay. They both call us either Mama or Dada.

They get really excited to see Dada when he steps in the door from work. You could actually see John’s heart melting into a puddle of goo.
I am absolutely certain that they are developing normally. It’s just that I noticed during the day Justin is attempting to say a few words that I cannot fathom what he was trying to say as a deaf Mom. It often breaks my heart that I cannot hear their voice. And yet, so little progress has been made. I know most toddlers don’t have a real vocabulary expression until at least 18 months, but geez. It seems like it will be forever before Rianna and Justin lets me know what exactly what they are requesting without having me offer them sixteen different things, all of which they shoves away angrily until I produce the thing they wants, which is when he miraculously transforms back into a little ray of sunshine. And I know it must be as frustrating for them as it is for me.
Rianna and Justin has not really form any signs since I have been teaching them one word at a time “milk” at 3 months old. They have not yet shown any interest with signing. They don't know that their Mama is deaf or has noticed anything different about me yet.

Fourteen Month
Justin love eating cat food! We caught him eating it at Papa’s house when we brought Scootch and DJ for their first Thanksgiving weekend.
When we came home the cats had to adjust their placement with their food and water in our bathroom area. And you know what? Justin sometimes sneak, get around the gate, and climb upstairs by himself when I clean the kitchen not knowing that he was getting in trouble. I found him eating the cat food again! Ugh
They both have the constantly running nose (cold) for the last few months on and off. It could contributed to that they may have allergic. I think I will be asking their Pedi for an allergic test when time is right for them. We’ll find out!

Fourteen Months and 1/2
At last, Christmas is finally here! But Rianna and Justin does not fully understand what “Christmas” is all about with difficulty to get them to open their own presents. Daddy was videotaping while Mommy look on with them. Rianna, Justin, and I have a slightly cold and constantly running to get Kleenex.
Rianna take special interest on her newly doll house “My First Sweet Home” while Justin is into “balls” and haven’t shown any interest of the toys we brought for him. I have to say he is a little bit overwhelmed with so many toys to choose in their tiny little play area. We have recycled their toys from our basement to see if they have any interest with different toys.
The Hits with Christmas Toys for 2007:
Fisher-Price Twins Dolls by Discovery House "My First Sweet Home" http://www.constplay.com/
Little Tikes "Shopping Cart"
Fisher-Price "Fun N' Speedway
Mega Bloks "Fast Tracks"

Elmo Sing-Along Music
They both still nap very well with mornings and often have a little bit difficult time with early afternoon nap. Rianna LOVE to sleep! But we often have to wake her up and she would get cranky from her crib. Justin on the other hand cries and wait on the corner of his crib waiting for us to pick him up.
Daddy and Mommy are still keeping our decision open about the way Rianna’s walking situation. She pretty much hasn’t change but in some small ways show a little improvement. She keeps falling down as she loses her balance. Not only that you can actually see how she walk. We will give her time until at least 18-month and if there is no improvement. We will get her an x-ray of the hip/knee. We hope as I am writing this that we are WRONG!

Thirteen Month
Justin said his 2 new word only once (One and Two) from Number book. Justin still have not achieve as much he does like Rianna. The book says girls talk first before boys.
Rianna has been signing “bye” but she say the word Dada and Mama. Rianna is very articled with her words.

Rianna's tooth:
She has 4 tooth all coming in from the top over the weekend (10-28-07 thru 10-31-07)
They both LOVE to chase each other. They walk so much better with no shoes. Rianna can command by giving us a toy and we would give it back to her. Rianna already know what the word “NO-NO” means since 10 months old. On the other hand, Justin is ONE stubborn boy! He won’t listen, try to run away when he get cranky in his stroller, or giving him a bit of freedom but he is always running off.
Mommy has been taking them to the play ground at the Mall but sometimes it is difficult because Justin just want to play with the stroller “wheels”. He is VERY into “wheels” and if he see one he would go right over there.

It is Official! (Twelve Month)
The Doctor’s Office:
Rianna: 21 lbs and 10 ounce with 29-1/2 inches
Justin: 22 lbs and 8 ounce with 31 inches
I cannot believe that my babies are one year old. But here it is, and as I’ve seen mentioned a few times by others, it is bittersweet. Yes, those crazy first few months are over, but so are the long hours holding them, seeing them take in this new world around them. Now they barely let me hold them for a few seconds! Rianna and Justin celebrated their actual birthday on September 30, 2007 on Sunday with 40 people and their newest friends from Tiny Tots Play Group./Twins Play Group.

10 Month
Justin has learned how to walk by doing baby steps! We can’t believe how much they have grown since bring them home!
Rianna has the splitting image of her Daddy! She is such a beautiful tot. Justin has the cutest dimple smile. Mommy has been taking them to many of the play group dates. Justin and Rianna love playing with different toys than what they usually have at home. They both have a wonderful personality and always have been a very HAPPY baby! John and I could not be much happier and blessed with every day challenge we face with them.

Going onto 10 Month
Rianna has FINALLY start learning how to crawl with a few steps. She is getting around with her butt to reach for the toys to play.
Their favorite toys to play at the moment – Justin love his blocks and Rianna love to play with “Amazing Animals” train set. They both love the little table to stand a long period of time.
Justin is learning how to stand on his own longer than he can and when he does not want to fall down he would slowly bend his knee to go down to the floor.
They have a favorite show to watch “The Wiggles” and “Mickey Mouse Playhouse”. Justin love the commercial in between “the monkeys” and Rianna like “Dorothy the Dinosaurs”.
Justin is into books – he like turning the pages. Rianna would follow him around when she can as she is learning how to crawl each day is getting better for her.
On July 15, 2007 we all got into a freak accident for the first time with both of you in it. The lady side swipe us when we were making a left turn. BAM! Rianna slept through the whole incident while Justin was playing with his toys. The fire dept. and ambulance had to check to be sure you were both okay. They told us that we did a good job security the infant seat carrier and buckled both of you up good.

Nine Month
The Doctor’s Office:
Rianna: 20 lbs and 6 ounce with 28 inches
Justin: 20 lbs and 10 ounce with 29-1/2 inches
In my heart I can’t believe the big adjustment within weeks for Justin to go from not crawling to army crawler, to walking, to getting up, to stand for longer period of time on his own, to talking. I can’t wait to hear what he’ll have to say! To watch what he’ll do next……When he falls down he cries for “Mama”. I definitely see Justin being VERY affection toward to anyone. Unlike Rianna where she just kind of grab your hair, pull your necklace, want you to bounce her up and down, and etc. I know she’ll become affection like Justin later.
At this stage Rianna is learning to stay on her tummy longer and move around on her tummy to reach for any toys. Yet she stills not a big neither fan of tummy nor crawl yet. She has trouble with bending her legs to prepare for crawling. It’s funny to watch her cries many times. The one thing she does love to stand for long period of time and does the creeping walk around the play yard.
And yet I want both of them to be a baby this way for…not ever, but a little longer. I love that they can hold bottle and pull it in and out of their mouth. But I also love that, on most mornings still to wake both of us between 4:00 to 5:00 a.m.
It look like Rianna is about to break her first tooth on the bottom. We know they are late boomers for getting their tooth at last!
I am on my way to preparing their 1st birthday. I am so excited and the joy to watch them becoming a “Toddler”. Rianna and Justin love watching Disney Channel “Mickey Mouse and his Friends” every morning. I decided then I would have a Mickey and Minnie theme. I found the perfect invitation cards, cake, and a birthday wish list. Mommy knows BEST what a special day will be for them.
Justin’s beloved “Rainforest – Jumperoo” has snapped the spring from jumping too hard over time has been broken. I send an email to the Corporation of Fisher-Price. They asked me to send the item back to them and will give me a check for a refund. But Justin was miserable without his favorite activity that he goes in every morning. Whenever Daddy or Mommy hold him he would tried to jump up and down from us.
We are still waiting for that check and hopefully Justin will find his love of his activity again. Mommy is still doing some research to find that perfect activity.
Papa brought another cool extrasaucer that has a seat that sit outside of the table. It is essentially for Rianna to learn how to walk since she hates being on her tummy.

First Tooth for Justin
On June 26, 2007, Justin (9 mos old) finally got his first tooth cut from the top and then 2nd one came in on July 4, 2007. Justin is also getting 2 more teeth on the top side and then 1 tooth coming up from the bottom. But the best news is that he hasn’t really been fussy so much about his tooth erupted. Mommy has been giving him 3 tablets in the morning and then 3 more before bed. It is working out well for him.

Their First Kiddie Pool
We drove 2 hours to go see Papa's house for the weekend. Rianna and Justin got in their first kiddie pool. Mommy just LOVE Rianna's beautiful swimsuit with her hat. (Justin was still napping at the time but just in time to get a picture too.)

Eight Month
Justin:
He finally said his first word “Mama” on May 1, 2007. But he does not fully understand what it meant. He just loves saying it all the time like he is blowing bubbles out of his mouth too. I hope he will get onto new word soon. Justin has finally made peace with sleeping in his crib in his room with Rianna a few weeks ago. Justin loves to be on his stomach “crouching” with his legs crossed along with his little blanket and his favorite “Curious George monkey”.
On May 8th, Justin got his first cold. He got it from Mommy when she was sick over the weekend. And then the whole family got sick.
Rianna:
On May 8th, Justin got his first cold. He got it from Mommy when she was sick over the weekend. And then the whole family got sick.
Rianna:
She has been sleeping beautiful since 4 months old but she does get up in the middle of the night to play for a little bit and then fall back to sleep.
There are times that Rianna get fussy because she is not sure what she want to do next when playing with her toys.
Together they are both always up after 4:30 in the morning playing in the crib until one of us get them for their first bottle fed at 5:30 a.m. every day!
Rianna and Justin like to grab a lot of toys and getting their hands on holding them much longer. Rianna is starting to show more of her personality. She does not cry anymore when people come up to her. Also, they both LOVED being outside! Daddy and Papa took them to their first “zoo” trip to Bass Pro Shop in Bolingbrook. They love it there and will go back there soon again.
They both are eating very well with the exception Rianna is a picky eater. While Justin take up anything that goes in his mouth!
Rianna said her first word on May 21, 2007 by saying Da Da. And then Justin copied her and now he says Da Da instead of Mama.

Six Months
The Doctor’s Office:
Rianna: 16 lbs and 5 ounce with 25 inches
Justin: 17 lbs and 8 ounce with 27.25 inches
The 6 month check-up shots does not do well with Justin does because he get a fever every time the doctor give them their shots. It doesn’t happen right away and usually show up within 24 hours later. Rianna had never a problem but we do make sure we keep an eye on her as well.
I’m really anxious for Justin and Rianna to start doing SOMETHING. I don’t care if it’s crawling, sitting up, babbling, enjoying food, sleeping through the night, ANYTHING! I hope that they will be doing this in the next few months.
Justin has been pulling himself up to learn how to sit and play with his toys. Justin is learning how to grab his toys now which is amazing! Justin, you have been blabbing away every day with more vocally. You’re definitely a “Mommy’s Boy” and that what I love about you!

Crawling:
One of the biggest challenges that Justin does is he scoots backwards but can’t figure out how to go forward. It is so cute to watch him tries but he gets upset. He can get up on his knee and his hands but then he can’t figure out what to do next.
Mommy had to learn how to let you sleep through the night without a bottle or changing diapers as a bad habit. But you’re not screaming as much as you were last month at age 5 month. It was for some unknown reason but we did every thing we could to settle you down. You finally learn to sleep through this month!
Rianna has finally learned how to roll over onto her tummy but not for long. I have been working with you to get your neck/head more strengthen when you are onto your tummy even you hate being on it. Also, Rianna learned how to do raspberry blows. We don’t know where she got that from but she learned it on her own. She is also grabbing the toys too.
I would throw down a blanket or bed sheet on the floor and let them play with each other. Rianna like to touch Justin all over the place. Justin would squeeze his eyes before her hands get onto his face. We think she’ll be picking on her brother!
Another thing Rianna loves music as she tries to move her shoulder to dance away whenever there a show called “The Wiggles”. It owed by Disney Channel.

Seven Month
Rianna has been smiling more each day. She is also very expressive when she wants to tell us something.
Rianna and Justin join with “Tiny Tots” play group for different activities each week. Mommy takes them for Stroller Walk around the Lake which is a 2.2 mile walk. They enjoy being outside a lot. On May 30th they both are going for their first picnic play group.
Justin has started learning how to crawl, squiring around in the play yard, stand up in his crib, shake the crib railing, screams every morning at 4:00 to 4:30 AM, and lastly he is a very ACTIVE baby! Doesn’t stop moving around to rest!
They are both still TOOTHLESS! But their hairs are growing slowly!

Easter Day!
We took Rianna and Justin to church for their 1st Easter. Justin was great as he always does because he loves smiling at anyone who comes up to him. Rianna was fussy for a good 20 minutes at the church and I decided it was best to go home. She just was not in a good mood the entire day! John and I noticed that she is becoming anxiety when she is surrounded by a lot of people. It was difficult to take pictures with her cute Easter dress. I was disappointed but I knew we will have better pictures each year.

Five Months
On March 7, 2007 is the day she started blabbing with her cute squeak voice. She is the center of attention when she talks.
At 5-1/2 month old, Justin and Rianna sit-up on their own! (March 17, 2007) Justin is pulling himself upward because he likes to sit up and play with his toys. Rianna is following along with her big brother by a minute apart.

Justin's owie
On January 17th, Mommy had to take Justin to the doctor because she accidentally clipped your fingernail. You were bleeding profoundly that I could not get the bleeding to stop. I panicked and had my girlfriend Karen to come over and help me. From there we decided to take you the doctor. Your doctor saw immediately and told us you were needed to go the ER because she said you may need stitch?! I started to reallly cried because I could not believe I had hurt you. The funny part is you never once cried about it.
The ER doctor look at your finger and said it was not a deep cut. We had to stay until you finally stop bleeding. If I had known that your fingertip were like a nose bleed (blood vessel). I would have switch to a nail file. That evening I told Daddy I would never use the nail clip on either of you ever again!

Four Months
The Doctor’s Office:
Rianna: 13 lbs and 6 ounce with 23 inches
Justin: 15 lbs and 5 ounce with 25 inches
Justin have outdone it with rolling over your tummy a million times but still have not learn to turn back just yet. You have the biggest smile and a joy!
The trick that Justin had learned was to use the “fake cough” just to get our attention. At first, I thought he was getting a bad cough so much of drooling. Daddy says, No -- It’s the fake cough. So, Justin is playing trick on Mommy!

Rianna loves to nap daily 2 to 4 hours per day. She’s been watching the cats running around when she is in the saucer.
